1998 Gibson Les Paul Studio
Summary: The Gibson Les Paul Studio has been the accessible, stripped-down version of the icon since 1983. With genuine Gibson USA humbuckers and tone controls, it provides much of the same tone as a Les Paul Standard without any extras like binding or flamed maple. This is meant to be a workhorse guitar. If Les Paul tone is all you're after, here's your weapon.
Body: Mahogany with a Maple top finished in a gloss Ebony finish.
Neck: Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1.6875” nut width, pearl dot inlays.
Pickups/Hardware: Two Gibson USA humbuckers, Grover tuning keys, tunomatic bridge/stopbar tailpiece, 2x volume/2x tone controls/3-way pickup selector, chrome hardware.
Cosmetics: This guitar has light surface scratches and various nicks and dings but nothing major. The headstock finish has started wear and come off in places. The frets how a slight bit of wear. The back of the neck has some small indentations. Overall, this guitar is good shape and plays and sounds fantastic.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
