Summary: The 1973 Gibson solid bodies leaflet details the SG Standard as being better than ever with new Super Humbucking pickups. The rhythm pickup delivers an extra clean sound while the lead has just enough “dirt” added to make it interesting. The Standard offers the light, fast sensitive touch that makes it one the industry’s “Standard”. This 1973 Gibson SG is fine example this model. The strap buttons have been upgraded with Schaller S-Locks. This guitar plays great, and is in fine vintage condition.

Body: Mahogany with a gloss Walnut finish.

Neck: Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1 9/16” nut width, 22 frets, pearl rectangle inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: Two humbuckers, 2x volume/2x tone controls, 3-way pickup selector, Gibson Bigsby tailpiece, chrome Gibson tuning keys.

Cosmetics: This guitar has various small nicks, dings, and scuffs on the body and on the back of the neck. The headstock face has a small scuff near the Gibson logo. The back of the body has light buckle rash that does not go through the finish. The frets are in great shape with just a bit of wear on the first few frets. Overall, this guitar is in great vintage condition and plays and sounds fantastic.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10’s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Modifications: Upgraded with old-style Schaller S-Locks.
