Summary: There was nothing like Ned Steinberger’s guitars and basses when they were first introduced in 1979. With their lightweight and headless design, Steinberger guitars are still bold, modern instruments that offer players both a smooth tonal response and solid intonation at any position on the neck while giving soloists a more pronounced single note attack not available from typical guitar designs. This version of the GR4 from 1991 is a great example of these interesting instruments.

Body: Solid double cutaway, red gloss finish (with checking).

Neck: 24 frets, 25.5” scale length, 1 5/8” nut width, headless, white dot inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: Two single coil pickups in the middle and neck position and one humbucking pickup in the bridge position (all passive electronics), one volume/one tone knob, five-way pickup selector.

Cosmetics: This guitar has finish checking. It has dings here and there and has a couple chips in the finish near the input jack. It has minor surface scratches on the body.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10’s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Weight: 6 lbs., 12 oz.

Case: This guitar ships in the original Steinberger gig bag, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
