Summary: This 1965 Gibson SG Junior is a super resonant guitar with sweet sounding original P90 pickup and tons of finish checking on the body. It has just been fully inspected, setup and restrung by our in-house guitar tech with a new set of 10s and low action. This one is a killer player and the original “alligator skin” case is included. Body: Mahogany body double cutaway with cherry finish, tons of finish checking and b/w/b pickguard. Neck: It has a nice full C mahogany set neck with rosewood fingerboard, pearloid dots, 1.690” nut width and 24.75” scale length. Pickups/Hardware: It has the original P-90 pickup, tuners are bridge are non original but period correct reproductions, the volume and tone pots are totally original and working perfectly. The nut was replaced with a nice bone nut. Cosmetics: This SG is in very good shape for its age. There is a lot of finish checking on the body, a few nicks and dings mostly around the edges of the body, pick scratching on the body and pickguard, a few cracks in the pickguard as well as some warping, there is a very small hole on the face of the headstock under the A string tuner post, there are holes where replacement tuners once were mounted and there is a spot on the underside way up the neck where the finish has worn a bit from playing and it looks a little different than the rest. Overall, this guitar has been cared for all its life, has no breaks or structural issues to mention and looks fabulous. Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in good shape although there is some wear on the first 7 frets but it still plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out. Weight: 6 lbs, 2 oz.
