Summary: The Fender Jazzmaster was introduced in the late 1950’s at the NAMM (National Association of Music Merchants) show & was originally designed to be an upgrade to the legendary Stratocaster. Originally marketed as a high-end guitar aimed squarely at jazz cats, the Jazzmaster instead charted its own unexpected course as a boldly original instrument. In the hands of surf, rock, punk/postpunk and alt/indie guitarists who preferred a more distinctive sound and style, it has endured as a creatively prized “other” stage-and studio preference ever since. This Jazzmaster ships with original tremolo arm and a well used but beautiful original Fender hardshell case.

Body: Solidbody offset double cutaway electric guitar with a wonderful vintage sunburst finish.

Neck: One piece maple neck with a fully bound rosewood fingerboard, 21 frets, block inlays, 1.622” nut width, 25.5” scale length, Kluson Deluxe 6-in-line tuning keys.

Pickups/Hardware: Two original Jazzmaster single-coil pickups in white plastic covers, three-ply tortoise shell plastic pickguard, original Jazzmaster bridge and vibrato assembly with arm, selector switch for rhythm or lead tone circuit, three position pickup selector for lead circuit, volume and tone roller controls for rhythm circuit, chrome hardware, Kluson Deluxe tuners.

Cosmetics: This vintage Fender is in good shape – there are normal signs of wear associated with a guitar from the mid 1960’s such as pick scratching, several small nicks & dings, buckle rash on the back of the guitar & some wear around the edges of the headstock. Structurally this guitar is in fantastic shape & the cosmetic wear only adds character & charm to this vintage beauty.

Playability: This vintage Fender plays great – the instrument has recently been set up with a new set of 10’s and the action is low & the guitar plays great up & down the fingerboard.

Weight: 8 lbs, 1 oz.

Case: This guitar ships in the original Fender hardshell case, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
