Summary: The first era of Fender guitars made in Japan began in 1982. The Fender Esquire is a solid-body electric guitar manufactured by Fender, the first solid-body guitar sold by Fender, debuting in 1950. This Japanese made Fender Esquire has been modified with a set of single coil pickups add to the neck and middle positions, a 5-way pickup selector has been added along with a new white single ply pickguard. With these modifications, this guitar now has a tone of tonal options.

Body: Bound Alder body finished in a gloss 3-Tone Sunburst.

Neck: Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard, 25.5” scale length, 1.650” nut width, pearl dot inlays, 21 frets.

Pickups/Hardware: Three single coil pickguards, 5-way pickup selector/master volume/master tone controls, vintage style tuning keys, white single ply pickguard, 6-saddle bridge.

Cosmetics: This guitar has various nicks, dings, scratches on the body (See Photos Please). There are dents and indentations that can be felt on the back of the neck. The frets have light wear but still have a ton of life left. The binding is chipped in a few places. Overall, this guitar has some cosmetic issues and has modified but plays and sounds great.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Modifications: Two single coil pickups have been added and the pickguard has been changed.
