Summary: This collectible ES-335 is a rare Gibson Alvin Lee '59 ES-335 modeled after his original 'Big Red'. Alvin Lee and the heavy, manic blues rock band Ten Years After provided one of the most memorable performances at Woodstock in 1969 and it’s no surprise that Gibson wanted to pay tribute to one of the most influential sets and guitarists of all time. This is one of fifty guitars built in tribute to Alvin Lee’s ES-335. It is signed by Alvin on the back of the headstock, #44 of 50, and it includes the certificate of authenticity and original Gibson hard-shell case.

Body: Laminated Maple, Cherry finish with stickers that Alvin Lee had put on over the years.

Neck: Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1.675” nut width, 22 frets, small pearl block inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: Two Gibson humbuckers, one single coil in the middle position, gold Grover tuning keys, ABR-1 bridge/TP-6 tailpiece with fine tuners, 3x volume controls/2x tone controls/3-way pickup selector, black pickguard.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent condition and shows little sings of use. It has light surface scratches, and the hardware has been aged. The back of the body has very light indentations and scuffs that can be seen in a reflection.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Weight: 8.9 lbs.

Case: This guitar ships in the original hard-shell case with the COA, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
