Gibson Melody Maker D 1965 Cherry with Vintage Chipboard Case
Summary: This Melody Maker D is all original with 2 great sounding single coil pickups and super cool Maestro vibrato unit! It is in excellent vintage condition, has just been setup by our in house guitar tech and ships in a tastefully painted vintage alligator skin case.
Body: Double cutaway mahogany body with cherry finish and black pickguard.
Neck: Nice full mahogany set neck with rosewood fingerboard, pearloid inlays, 24 ¾” scale length and 1 9/16” nut width.
Pickups/Hardware: 2 single coil pickups, 2 volumes, 2 tones, black knobs, nickel plated TPBR intonated bridge and Maestro Vibrato unit with green tip and original 3-on-a-plate tuners with white buttons.
Cosmetics: The finish is in spectacular shape with no major blemishes besides a few scuffs, scratches and dings one would expect to find on a vintage guitar. There are a couple small divots in the rosewood fingerboard, some pick scratches and a spot on the bottom edge of the body where the finish is worn off.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup medium/low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with only minor grooves in the first few frets from use. It plays great up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.
Weight: 5 lbs, 15 oz.
Case: This Melody Maker ships in a vintage alligator skin case & we will ship it professionally packed and fully insured! The case has been painted.
