Summary: The one-of-a-kind
SteelCaster line is designed by Parisian builder James Trussart.  Looking
like a cross between a vintage Tele and something out of an H.G. Wells novel,
these steel hollow-bodies sport a uniquely “decayed” finish (applied using a
complex top-secret process that utilizes sea salts and animal skins) that gives
each SteelCaster a distinct personality all its own. This particular one
has cool snake-skin pattern wear on the top and back with a serial number of
99131. The SteelCaster has the look and feel of a vintage instrument with
while also featuring our exclusive hollow steel body and custom metal appointments.
The steel while also being the perfect medium to display the beautiful Trussart
custom finishes also has tonal advantages.

Body: Hollow steel body
with a single cutaway

Neck:
The
bolt-on maple neck features a 9” radius rosewood fingerboard and 21
“narrow/tall” frets. It has a 25 ½” scale and measures 1 5/8th at the
nut.  The head stock sports an aluminum plate with “James Trussart”
embossed into it. This instrument
features the 62’ neck shape with a 9” radius.

Pickups/Hardware:
The
white button Tone Pro Kluson tuning machines, aluminum pickguard, and six
saddle vintage Tele-style bridge have also been nicely aged, adding to the
antique look and feel of the guitar. The combination of the original Seymour Duncan single coil Tele pickups and the hollow aluminum give the SteelCaster a
resonant clear-as-a-bell tonality that sounds gorgeous, especially through a
nice tube amp.

Cosmetics: This instrument
has been aged and so it shows lots of wear – there are scratches all over this
guitar body but it looks really awesome & it has the worn-in vintage guitar
feel…. One of the plastic tuner buttons appears to have a small crack that has been reglued. and is fully functional.

Playability:
The
SteelCaster has been set up for optimal play ability and intonation – we set
this baby up with 10’s and it is ready to be played and loved for years to come.
It weighs in at a comfortable 7 pounds 4 ounces. The neck has a very
comfortable feel and is great for a multitude of musical styles.
