Summary: Like the Les Paul, the ES-335 stands as one of Gibson's all-time most iconic models. The ES-335 is a semi-hollow body guitar which means that it has a solid block of wood running through its center with hollow wings on either side. This construction style maintains the open tone of a hollow body while helping to reduce feedback. The ES-335 was introduced in 1958 and has remained in production in various forms ever since. This ES-335 has the original trapeze tailpiece. The original Patent Number pickups sound great and it plays very well.

Body: Maple finished in a nitrocellulose Sunburst, f-holes, double cutaway.

Neck: Mahogany with a bound Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1 9/16” nut width, block inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: Two original Patent Number humbuckers, nickel saddle bridge, trapeze tailpiece, keystone Kluson Deluxe tuning keys, two volume/two tone controls/three-way pickup selector, black three-ply pickguard.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape for a guitar from the late 1960’s. It has a few dings and dents here and there (See Photos Please). The finish has aged very well and has plenty of checking. The finish on the back of the neck has worn down a bit around the 4th-6th fret. There are a few dings on the back of the neck. There are some very small finish blemishes on the top of the body on the bottom cutaway near the pickguard (See Photos). There is a ring around each of the tuning posts on the face of the headstock are most likely from a washer that used to be there. Overall, this guitar plays very well, sounds amazing, and is great condition.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10’s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Weight: 7.605 lbs.

Case: This guitar ships in the original case, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
