2013 D'Angelico Excel SS

The D’Angelico Excel SS is a beautiful and versatile semi-hollow guitar. The Excel SS’s semi-hollow, single-cutaway body is extremely comfortable and yields a bright, rich, resonant sound with loads of bite and sustain, while a solid center block ensures a feedback-free performance. Equipped with a pair of humbuckers, the Excel SS serves up a variety of tones for every occasion. With a C-shaped, 3-piece maple/walnut neck, and a bound ebony fingerboard, this guitar is a joy to play. The Excel SS features high-end aesthetic touches such as mother-of-pearl and abalone block fingerboard inlays, multi-ply binding, a Scalini pickguard, and elegant gold hardware. 

Body: Semi-hollow body with laminated maple top, back, and sides in a black gloss finish.

Neck: Three-piece Maple/Walnut, neck-through, “C” shape, 25” scale length, 1.6875” nut width, 22 frets, bone nut.

Pickups/Hardware: Dual humbuckers, tune-o-matic bridge, Grover Imperial tuning keys, three-way pickup selector, and a two volume/two tone knob layout.

Cosmetics: This guitar has slight pitting on the gold hardware. The pickguard and the top of the body have light pick wear. Overall, this guitar shows very little signs of use and plays and sounds great.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10’s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been set low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or buzzing.
