1982 Gibson Les Paul Standard
Summary: The Gibson Les Paul was first produced early in 1952 and it was the very first solid body guitar to be produced by Gibson. The design of the Les Paul has stood the test of time and is still chosen as a mainstay by many players. At the time this Les Paul was built, 1982, Gibson was celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Les Paul. This Les Paul has a classic ebony finish and two great sounding humbuckers. This 10+ pound Les Paul has been played, gigged, and loved. It comes with the original chainsaw hard-shell case and has just been setup by our inhouse technician.
Body: Mahogany with a bound Maple top, Ebony.
Neck: Mahogany with a bound Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1 11/16” nut width, 22 frets, pearl trapezoid inlays.
Pickups/Hardware: Two original humbuckers, original Gibson tuning keys, tunomatic bridge/stop bar tailpiece, cream pickguard, 2x volume/2xtone controls/3-way pickup selector, cream pickup rings.
Cosmetics: This guitar has normal wear from use. There is wear around the edge of the headstock. It has surface scratches, dents and scuffs throughout. The top edge of the fingerboard near the binding has worn down to the wood. Some of the finish on the back of the body has worn off down to the wood and the back has light buckle rash. The binding has aged to a darker cream. There is a finish crack between the volume and tone controls for the bridge pickup. This crack is structurally stable. Overall, this guitar has wear that is consistent with a guitar of this age that has been played.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
