1966 Mosrite of California "The Ventures" Mark V - Vintage White with Original Case
Summary: This 1966 Mosrite Ventures Mark V is in very good condition. The 24.75” scale, slim and fast playing neck, and low action make this a very playable guitar. It has the original patented “Moseley” vibrato tailpiece and single coil pickups that are fairly aggressive when cranked. This guitar has been setup with 10’s by our in-house luthier and plays great.
Body: This guitar has a beautifully aged vintage white basswood body with German carve and tortoise guard.
Neck: The neck of this guitar is made of maple with a rosewood fretboard that has pinhead size dot inlays. The 22 frets are designed to be low, small, and flat. The serial number is stamped above the 22nd fret. This instrument has a 24.75” scale length and a 1 9/16” nut width.
Pickups/Hardware: This guitar has the original Mosrite single coil pickups, original “Moseley” vibrato tailpiece, original Kluson Deluxe tuning keys, chrome hardware, truss rod cover & tortoiseshell pickguard. It has master tone, volume and 3-way toggle.
Cosmetics: This vintage Mosrite does have some small blemishes and dings that can be seen on the top of the body and some light buckle rash on the back of the body. There is notable wear around the edges on the back of the instrument, with one place near the strap button that is worn down to the wood. There are a few small chips in the finish on the neck around the 8th fret. Overall, this guitar is in very good shape for its age, was cared for, played, but never abused.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. There are minor grooves mostly in the first 2 frets but they are shallow and do not impede playability.
Modifications: Two of the pickguard screws have been replaced.
