Summary: This is a rare & beautiful vintage Yamaha SG-7 electric guitar that was made in Japan & has really stood the test of time. The gold hardware is still shiny, and the condition is fantastic for an instrument of this age. This guitar ships in the original old-school Yamaha hard shell case & we ship it fully insured.

Body: Offset double cutaway hardwood body with an extended treble horn & a wonderful blue finish.

Neck: Maple neck with a fully bound rosewood fingerboard, 22 frets, matching headstock, six-on-a-side tuning keys, 1 9/16” nut width, 24.75” scale length, dot inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: Original vintage Yamaha pickups - three single coil pickups (mid and bridge pickups are arranged in humbucker configuration), gold hardware, 3 knobs, 3-way switch, wonderful feeling tremolo system.

Cosmetics: Yamaha was really doing something right in 1967. The gold is bright & beautiful, the finish is elegant in strong. The rosewood fingerboard looks & feels incredible. There are some pick scratches & a few minor dings on the guitar body but you must look hard to find them. There are some thin scratches in the finish on the upper horn & a few scratches on the back but overall, this guitar is in great shape. The very tip of the whammy bar is black plastic & it has chipped off at the very end – you cannot see it in the photos, but the very tip of the bar is broken off.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
