1970s Wurlitzer Electric Piano
Summary: This vintage Wurlitzer Electric piano is in good condition and it sounds fantastic. This piano was made in the 1970's in Logan Utah and it has stood the test of time. This one does include a sustain pedal, but it is currently not working. We did test the organ with another sustain pedal that was working & it sounded incredible. This Wurlitzer also has a music sheet holder that can attach to the top. The legs are aftermarket reproductions and the highest key is not working.
We will not ship this instrument so you will have to make an appointment & purchase it in person in Providence, Rhode Island.
Here is some more information about this vintage Wurlitzer:
The instrument was invented by Benjamin Miessner and the first Wurlitzer piano was manufactured in 1954 – production continued until 1984. This one is from the mid 1970's so it does show some cosmetic wear that is consistent with an instrument that is nearly 50 years old.
The actual sound of the instrument is generated by striking a metal reed with a hammer, which induces an electrical current in a pickup.
This instrument was originally designed to be used in the classroom, however, the incredible sound and ease of movement allowed this instrument to evolve into much more than a classroom tool.
