Summary: The Telecaster Custom launched in 1972 with a newly designed humbucker pickup in in its neck position. With a wide-range humbucker at the neck and a traditional single-coil bridge pickup, this Telecaster Custom is a versatile workhorse with a great played-in look. This particular Telecaster is from 1974 and it has all kinds of wear in all the right places. This instrument was just setup with a fresh set of 10’s and its ready to be played and loved for years to come.

Body: Solid body single cutaway Telecaster with a black pickguard.

Neck: Maple neck & fingerboard with dot inlays, 21 frets, 25.5” scale length, 1 9/16” nut width.

Pickups/Hardware: Wide range humbucker at neck position, traditional Telecaster bridge pickup. Two volume and two tone controls. Three way pickup selector switch. Through-body bridge.

Cosmetics: This vintage Telecaster shows lots of normal wear consistent with an instrument that has been played but loved for nearly 50 years. There are several nicks and dings on the body with a few places around the edges where the finish has worn down to the wood. There is wear on the fingerboard and the edges of the neck. The frets show some wear and the frets are pretty low - this Tele is going to need a re-fret sometime in the near future.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are low but it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Weight: 7 lbs, 9 oz
