1974 Yamaha GC-15S by Toshihiro Kato
Summary: This 1974 Yamaha GC-15S was made in 1974 by Toshihiro Kato, considered the best luthier Yamaha Corporation ever had. This wonderful instrument offers exceptional volume and response combined with very romantic tonality. Its trebles are super sweet, round, yet very crisp. Basses are deep and full of overtones, yet relatively clean. All notes are well balanced, note clarity and separation fantastic, sustain amazing.
Body: Cedar top with Indian Rosewood back and sides
Neck: Honduras Mahogany with a Ebony fingerboard, 26” scale length, 2.04” nut width, 18 frets.
Hardware:Brazilian Rosewood bridge, bone nut and saddles.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It has light surface scratches on the body. The back of the neck is clean, and the frets show minimal wear. The back has light buckle rash. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
