Summary: The Fender Stratocaster is arguably the most iconic, most played, and most copied electric guitar design of all-time. Fender launched the Stratocaster in 1954 and it has gone through a lot of changes over the past 70 years but it is still one of the classics! This Fender Stratocaster was made between 1978-1979 and it plays and sounds great! This Stratocaster is in phenomenal shape considering its age & it will be shipped well packed and fully insured.

Body: Solid body, double cutaway Stratocaster with a beautiful dark vintage sunburst finish.

Neck: Maple neck with 21 frets, black dot inlays, 25.5” scale length, 1 9/16” nut width, comfortable C shaped neck profile, 3-bolt connection to the body.

Pickups/Hardware: 3 original single coil pickups, chrome hardware, original “F” stamped tuning keys, original whammy bar, black pickguard, black knobs, black pickup covers, dot inlays, 5-way selector switch.

Cosmetics: This vintage Fender is in wonderful shape, and you have to start looking hard to find any imperfections – there is normal pick wear on the pickguard, some light scuffs and ding in the body, a sign of ‘strap’ wear near the strap button on the upper horn and some light wear on the fingerboard edges, but overall you can tell this guitar was not played a lot and was well-cared for. The logo is in great shape and this guitar is ready for another 50 years of playing.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Weight: 9 lbs, 7 ounces

Case: This Fender Stratocaster ships in the original Fender molded plastic hard case with red interior, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
