Summary: Like most long-lasting guitar models, the Telecaster has seen its share of variations come off the line since the early '50s. The early '80s to mid-'80s were a transitional time for Fender and the Telecaster. This 1983 American Telecaster has a beautifully aged brown Sunburst finish and a white single ply pickguard. It has modern style Schaller “Fender” tuning keys, individual saddles for better intonation, standard Telecaster controls, and the original pickups.

Body: Alder with a brown three-color sunburst finish, top load only/no string through body option.

Neck: Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard, 25.5” scale length, 1.650” nut width, 21 frets, white dot inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: Fender branded Schaller tuning keys, two single coil Telecaster pickups, master volume/master tone controls/3-way pickup selector, white single ply pickguard, bone nut, individual saddles.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It has light surface scratches. There are few dents and dings hear and there and a few areas that someone tried to touch up with fingernail polish. The pickguard has regular wear, and the back of the neck is clean. The back of the body has noticeable buckle rash. The original frets show minimal wear. Overall, this guitar plays great and sounds fantastic.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Weight: 7.895 lbs.

Case: This guitar ships in a non-original hard-shell case, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
