Summary: Like most long-lasting guitar models, the Telecaster has seen its share of variations come off the line since the early '50s. The earlier '80s to mid-'80s were a transitional time for Fender and the Telecaster. This 1983 American Telecaster has a beautifully aged blonde finish and a white single ply pickguard. It has modern style Schaller “Fender” tuning keys, individual saddles for better intonation, standard Telecaster controls, and the original pickups.

Body: Alder with a Blonde finish, top load only/no string through body option.

Neck: Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard, 25.5” scale length, 1.650” nut width, 21 frets, white dot inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: Fender branded Schaller tuning keys, two single coil Telecaster pickups, master volume/master tone controls/3-way pickup selector, white single ply pickguard, bone nut, individual saddles.

Cosmetics: This guitar has light surface scratches throughout and a few nicks and scuffs. There is an area that has been touched up with what looks like nail polish (See Photos Please). At the end of the neck, it looks like someone cranked down on the micro tilt adjustment screw and the wood has slightly cracked (See Photos Please). The back of the neck is pretty clean with only some light indentations that can be seen in a reflection and the frets are in great shape. There is a couple small indentations on the back of the headstock. The set screws in the saddles and the screws for the pickguard have started to rust slightly. The neck pockets have finish cracks that can also be seen in the photos. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Weight: 7.625 lbs.

Case: This guitar ships in a non-original hardshell case, professionally packaged, and fully insured.
