1988 Gibson Les Paul Custom
Summary: This is a 1988 Gibson Les Paul Custom Black Beauty with 3 factory installed humbucker pickups and a classic ebony finish. This instrument comes with a Gibson Custom Shop case and it has recently been inspected and set up by our in-house luthier.
Body: Solidbody, single cutaway Les Paul with an ebony finish. The top and the back are both fully bound.
Neck: Maple neck with a fully bound ebony fingerboard, pearloid block inlays, 22 frets 1 11/16” nut width, 24.5” scale length.
Pickups/Hardware: 3 Gibson humbucker pickups, gold hardware, gold Gibson tuning keys, Les Paul Custom truss rod cover, tune-o-matic bridge and stop tailpiece. Two volume knobs and two tone knobs and a 3-way switch, 5-ply pickguard.
Cosmetics: This Gibson looks stunning on our wall & it stands out in a crowd. There is normal wear associated with a guitar that has been played but well loved over the past 30 years. There is lots of pick scratching on the top, some noticeable buckle rash on the back, some small nicks and dings on the body and on the back of the neck and some tarnish on the gold hardware.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10’s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
