Summary: This 1996 Ibanez RG517, made in Japan, features a basswood body with special blue flaked finish. The neck is one-piece maple with a bubinga skunk stripe with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. It has non-original DiMarzio humbucking pickups flanking an Ibanez S1 single-coil controlled by a 5-way selector switch & an Edge double locking tremolo bridge and a locking nut.

 

Body: Basswood in Blue Sparkle Flake finish.


Neck:  One-piece Maple with a Bubinga skunk stripe neck with a Rosewood fingerboard,  25.5” scale length, 1.68” nut width, 24 frets, dot inlays.

 

Pickups/Hardware: Ibanez Bridge :DimArzio Evolution , Middle: S1, Neck: DiMArzio PAF Pro pickups, Gotoh SG38 tuning keys, Edge double locking tremolo bridge, Top-Lok III nut.


Modifications: Missing back plate, gold dot inlays around headstock, replacement string tree and nut clamps. 


Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It has light surface scratches on the body, and some edge scuffs. The back of the neck is clean, and the frets show minimal wear. The back has light buckle rash. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.



Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable.
