Summary: The Gibson Les Paul Classic 1960 Reissue appeared during 1990 as a reissue of the 1960 Les Paul model, with its key feature being a slim neck profile. This model was produced in three stretches – from 1990 to 1998, from 2000 to 2008, and since 2014. The headstock decal originally read ‘Les Paul Model’ as the originals did, and this was changed to ‘Les Paul Classic’ in 1993. The pick guard is also engraved with ‘1960’. This Les Paul was built in 1997 and comes equipped with a 496R humbucker in the neck position and a 500T in the bridge position. The pickups come with no covers so the coils are exposed, another characteristic to differentiate it from other Les Pauls.

Body: Mahogany with a Maple top, Honey Burst nitrocellulose finish.

Neck: Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1.694” nut width, 22 frets, pearl trapezoid inlays.

Pickups/Hardware: 496R humbucker (neck, 8.3K), 500T humbucker (bridge, 14.6K), Grover Deluxe keystone tuning keys, ABR-1 bridge with graphite saddles/stop bar tailpiece, 1960 engraved pickguard, 2x volume/2x tone controls/3-way pickup selector, cream pickup covers/pickguard.

Cosmetics: This guitar has light surface scratches and a couple small dings on the top of the body (See Photos Please). The back has light indentations or buckle rash that does not go through the finish. The face of the headstock has light surface scratches. The back of the neck is smooth, and the frets are in great shape. Overall, this guitar is in great condition, and it plays and sounds fantastic.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.

Modifications: The tuning keys have been upgraded to Grover Deluxe keystone tuning keys. The original pickups have been reinstalled. The tone knob for the neck pickup as been changed. The strap buttons have been swapped. The truss rod cover has been replaced with a blank cover.
