1997 Rickenbacker 330/12 12-String
Summary: Basically, the same as Model 330, the 330/12 has twelve strings. Careful acoustic research has resulted in the full, rich and warm sound of this popular model. Two single coil pickups on a full-size body are accented by a traditionally shaped sound hole. The 24 fret Rosewood fingerboard is punctuated by dot inlay fret markers, with full double cutaways permitting access to all the frets. Rickenbacker uses an innovative headstock design that incorporates both a slotted-style peghead and a solid peghead, thereby eliminating the need for the larger headstock normally associated with a 12-string guitar. Another feature unique to Rickenbacker 12-strings is the ordering of the strings. Most 12-strings have the octave string on the bass side of the standard string; Rickenbacker reverses this convention. This feature along with the semi-hollow body design and thru-body neck structure contribute to its unique timbre.
Body: Semi-acoustic, Maple, finished in a gloss Fireglo.
Neck: Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1.63” nut width, dot inlays, 24 frets.
Pickups/Hardware: Two high gain pickups, six saddle bridge, “R” tailpiece, mono output, Schaller tuning keys, two volume/two controls/5th knob for pre-volume (variable resistor)/three-way pickup selector.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent condition. There are very light surface scratches on the body that are more like swirls. These can only be seen in a reflection. There is very light pick wear on the bottom horn of the body. The back of the neck is clean, and the frets show very little signs of wear.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
