Summary: The bouzouki has a long neck and resembles a mandolin in the way that it has eight strings. It’s part of the lute family and has been popular in Greece since the early 1900s. W.A. Peterson builds, repairs, and restores fretted instruments including banjo's, guitars and bouzoukis. He does beautiful original inlay work. He built this Level #1 Bouzouki #57 in August of 1998. The attention to detail on this instrument is incredible. It has a beautiful Spruce top, Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, and an elegant “P” inlay on the face of the headstock.

Body: Solid Spruce top, Solid Maple back/side.

Neck: Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, 19 frets, dot markers on the top of the fingerboard.

Pickups/Hardware: Gotoh closed gear tuning keys, Rosewood bridge, bone nut, tortoise binding on the top of the body, mandolin type tailpiece.

Cosmetics: This instrument is in great shape and shows very little signs of use. The back of the body has a few light surface scratches. The top of the body has a few tiny pinhead size dents that can only be seen in a reflection.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this bouzouki with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
