2003-2004 Melancon Custom Artist T
Summary: This is a custom-built guitar by the late Master Luthier Gerard Melancon himself. The serial number is #803. At the time this guitar was built, Gerard was really hitting his stride. These instruments were built to stay in tune. It has beautiful, quilted maple top and an East Indian rosewood neck that plays great up and down the rosewood fingerboard.
Body: Tiger-eye 2A quilted top North American maple, mahogany back, natural binding.
Neck: East Indian rosewood, mother of pearl inlays, bone nut, 1.699” nut width, 25.5” scale length.
Pickups/Hardware: Two P90’s, One humbucker in the bridge, Grover tuning keys, Melancon bridge, 5-way pickup selector, one stock switch, one custom order switch.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in excellent condition for being almost 20 years old. The saddles and the dome style knobs are lightly tarnished. There is a small amount of wear the logo. There is one tiny scratch line about ¾” long and the width of a sharp pencil tip on the back of the body.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
