Summary: The Gibson SG Standard, famous for its comfortable, fast-action neck, is a perennial favorite among us here at Empire Guitars. A rounded profile mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard, long tenon 19th fret neck joint, and a solid mahogany body provide the backbone for singing sustain. The 490R and 490T pickups provide the power to drive. It has a five-ply, full-face pickguard, two volume/two tone controls, and a three-way pickup selector. This SG Standard has been gigged with but cared for and it still has a ton of life left in it.

Body: Double cutaway, solid mahogany with a cherry nitrocellulose gloss finish.

Neck: Rounded mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard, acrylic trapezoid inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets, 24.75” scale length. 1.695” nut width, Graph Tech nut.

Cosmetics: This guitar has light surface scratches throughout. There are various nicks, dings, and scratches on this guitar. There is noticeable wear on the edges of the headstock. There is a tiny chip in the nut between the G and the B string. The frets have very light wear. The pickguard has regular wear, and the back of the neck is in great shape. Overall, this guitar has a few cosmetic issues but it plays great and sounds fantastic.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
