Summary: The Gibson SG Standard, famous for its comfortable, fast-action neck, is a perennial favorite among us here at Empire Guitars. A rounded profile mahogany neck, bound rosewood fingerboard, long tenon 19th fret neck joint, and a solid mahogany body provide the backbone for singing sustain. The 490R and 490T pickups provide the power to drive. It has a five-ply, full-face pickguard, two volume/two tone controls, and a three-way pickup selector. This SG Standard has been gigged with but cared for and it still has a ton of life left in it.

Body: Double cutaway, solid mahogany with a cherry nitrocellulose gloss finish.

Neck: Rounded mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard, acrylic trapezoid inlays, 22 medium jumbo frets, 24.75” scale length. 1.695” nut width, Graph Tech nut.

Pickups/Hardware: Nashville Tune-O-Matic with stop bar tail piece, Grover Rot-o-matic tuning keys, two 490R humbucking pickups, two volume/two tone knobs, 3-way pickup selector, full face pickguard.

Cosmetics: This guitar has small scratches and dents on most of the body. It has buckle rash on the back of the body. The pickguard has regular pick wear. The neck has a few scratches and small dents. Overall, this guitar has been gigged with but plays and feels great.

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10’s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
