2018 Fender Road Worn '50s Telecaster
Summary: Those who prize older instruments with the battered look of years on the road and the scars of countless gigs can still have that authentically aged vibe without spending decades on the road themselves. The Road Worn '50s Telecaster sounds, looks and feels like it's been there and back, has more than a few miles on it, and then some. With authentic 1950s styling aged to impart a lifetime of wear and tear that has somehow made it get even better, it's a must-have for the guitar player who appreciates broken-in look and vibe.
Body: Solid alder, purple road worn lacquer, single cutaway.
Neck: Maple, “C” shape, bolt-on, 25.5” scale length, road worn urethane, 21 narrow jumbo frets, 1.65 nut width, synthetic bone nut,
Pickups/Hardware: Cavalier pickups have been added (Lion tele neck/Nocaster bridge), one master volume knob and one tone knob, 3-saddle Rutters bridge with compensated brass saddles, chrome vintage style tuning keys, Forney set screw switch tip.
Cosmetics: This is a Road Worn version that is heavily relic’d. It is in great shape and plays wonderfully.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10’s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
Modifications: This guitar has had its bridge upgraded to a Rutters bridge with compensated brass saddles. The pickups have been upgraded with a Lion tele neck pickup and a Nocaster bridge pickup (Cavalier Pickups). A Forney set screw switch tip has been added.
