2020 Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass
Summary: For the bassist who wants a darkly alluring and notably modern take on a Fender classic, the Aerodyne Jazz Bass is a specialized all-black model unlike any other instrument in the family. It has a specially shaped slim body and carved bound top with no pickguard, stained rosewood fingerboard with no inlays, smoked-chrome control knobs and hardware, and a Stratocaster output jack. It also features the versatile combination of a pummeling split single-coil Precision Bass middle pickup and a growling Jazz Bass single-coil bridge pickup.
Body: Basswood with a gloss Black finish, cream binding on the top.
Neck: Satin Maple with a stained Rosewood fingerboard, 34” scale length, 1.5” nut width, 7.25” radius, 20 frets, “C” Shape.
Pickups/Hardware: Standard Single-Coil Jazz Bass pickup, Standard Split Single-Coil Precision Bass pickup, Controls: Volume 1. (Middle Pickup), Volume 2. (Bridge Pickup), Master Tone, synthetic bone nut, Knurled Dome knobs.
Cosmetics: This bass has light surface scratches throughout and some deeper scuffs and buckle rash on the back (See Photos Please). The back of the neck is clean and smooth, and the frets are in great shape.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of flat wound strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
