Summary: This 2023 Gibson Wildwood Select Original Collection Les Paul Standard ‘50s is among the first of  a Wildwood-exclusive run of Gibson USA guitars. The tops of the Gibson/Wildwood Custom Shop instruments are hand-picked, so Wildwood asked their friends at the USA factory if they could do the same thing for this run of instruments, & these cuts of maple are absolutely stunning.

Body: Mahogany in Unburst finish.


Neck: Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1.69” nut width, 22 frets, acrylic trapezoid  inlays.

 

Pickups/Hardware: Two Wildwood spec ‘59 Tribute humbucker pickups, vintage deluxe with keystone button tuning keys, ABR-1 tune-O-matic bridge with Aluminum stopbar tailpiece, amber speed knobs. 

Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It has light surface scratches on the body. The back of the neck is clean, and the frets show minimal wear. The back has light surface scratches.. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.

 

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
