2005 Epiphone Les Paul Standard
Summary: This 2005 Epiphone Les Paul Standard guitar lovingly recreates the feel and tone of the 1950s era Les Pauls. Epiphone’s long friendship with Mr. Les Paul began in 1940 when Les built one of the world’s first solidbody electric guitars while working nights at the original Epiphone factory in Manhattan. Les’ first solidbody guitar, nicknamed “the Log”, would go on to inspire the Les Paul Standard, which many consider the greatest electric guitar ever made. The guitar is crafted with a mahogany body, maple cap bound mahogany neck with classic trapezoid inlays.
Body: Maple top with Mahogany body in Sunburst finish.
Neck: Mahogany with a bound Rosewood fingerboard, 24.75” scale length, 1.68” nut width, 22 frets, trapezoid inlays.
Pickups/Hardware: Epiphone Alnico Classic humbucker pickups,Grover tuning keys, Tune-o-Matic Bridge w/ Stopbar Tailpiece, amber top hat knobs.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It has light surface scratches and small indentations on the body. The back of the neck is clean, and the frets show minimal wear. The back has light buckle rash. It is missing the original pickguard. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fretboard with no dead spots or choking out.
