1965 Gibson SG Junior
Summary: This Gibson SG Junior is in great shape with tons of finish checking and excellent sounding single P90 pickup. It has just been
inspected, restrung and setup by our in-house guitar tech with 10
gauge strings and low action. The original frets still have tons of life left in them and the neck is nice and straight. It ships in its original hardshell case with gold interior and we will pack it well and ships it fully insured.
Body: Solid mahogany body with contours, cherry finish with lots of checking and 3 ply b/w/b pickguard.
Neck: The mahogany set neck has a nut width of 1.675”, 24.75” scale length, pearloid dot inlays, changed tuners and new bone nut.
Pickups/Hardware: It has the original P90 pickup, volume, tone, changed pot, a few wires and capacitor, aftermarket Kluson tuners, chrome hardware, intonated stopbar tailpiece and Maestro vibrola without bar. The bridge has some string grooves notched into it and the Vibrola bar is no longer with the instrument. The strap buttons have been changed.
Cosmetics: This guitar is in very good vintage condition with no breaks or cracks. The finish has tons of checking, there are a fair amount of small nicks and dings mostly around the edges of the body, a ding on the lower horn, finish worn off the edges of the body, finish worn off the edges of the headstock, a ding under the Gibson logo and a few small nicks in the back of the neck. The tuner holes were reamed to fit a previous set of tuners and there are some chips around the ferrules. There are string notches filed into the bridge and the pickguard is a little bit warped in one spot. There is also a small crack in the pickguard by the lower horn screw.
Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has just inspected, setup and restrung this guitar with a new set of 10s. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functioning and the action has been setup low and comfortable. The frets are in great shape with no major grooves or divots from use and it plays beautifully up and down the fingerboard with no dead spots or choking out.
