2012 Rickenbacker 4003 MapleGlo

Summary: This 2012 Rickenbacker 4003 MapleGlo offers all of the timeless tone and traditional styling of a classic RIC solid body bass. The distinctive body is carved from maple and paired with a through-body maple neck to deliver that renowned RIC sustain, full-bodied low-end, and punchy, articulate trebles. The 4003 comes outfitted with a pair of single coil pickups. Both the bass and treble pickups sport independent volume and tone controls while additional sonic flexibility is offered by the push/pull treble tone control knob that can take you from a vintage to modern bass sound on the fly. The RIC 4003 also comes equipped with a Standard output jack and Rick-O-Sound output jack to allow for mono and stereo performance capabilities. High-quality chrome hardware includes a set of Schaller Deluxe open-geared tuning machines and a RIC bridge/tailpiece featuring a built-in damper to deliver that classic muted bass sound.

Body: Maple in MapleGlo finish.

Neck:  Maple with a Rosewood fingerboard,  33.25” scale length, 1.68 ” nut width, 20 frets,  Triangle inlays.

Pickups/Hardware:  Dual single coil pickups, Schaller Deluxe  tuning keys, RIC bridge and tailpiece, black knobs, Bakelite nut.

Cosmetics: This guitar is in great shape. It has light surface scratches and small indentations on the body. The back of the neck is clean, and the frets show minimal wear. The headstock was repaired by a well known luthier. The back has very light buckle rash. Overall, this guitar plays very well and sounds fantastic.

Modifications: Neck repair completed by luthier (pictured).

Playability: Our in-house guitar tech has inspected, setup, and restrung this instrument with a new set of strings. The neck is straight, the truss rod is fully functional, and the action has been setup low and comfortable.
